Home remedies for bloating are widely used to calm down the discomfort caused due to distended stomach within a short time. Bloating, burping and passing gas is normal and is an activity which occurs many times in a day, it is when gas present in the abdomen either does not find a way to escape out of stomach or it is produced in large quantities, too much for the system to pass out in a short time, is what causes bloating. People having lethargic lifestyle or involved in a sitting job usually has trapped gas in the stomach which gets too much to accommodate for the stomach after having meals. Release of this gas relieves the symptoms of bloating. Lie down on a mattress on the floor and lift left leg and bring the knee close to your chest after bending it. Bring it further closer by hugging it and hold it there for few seconds. Repeat this with another leg and then with both the legs. Avoid foods like cabbage, cauliflower, onion, beans, broccoli, sprouts, garlic, cucumber, radish, melons, beverages, packed salted foods, whole wheat bread, peas, lentils and raisins. Maintain a food diary to check food allergies and foods for which one's body in intolerant. Eat small meals instead of large meals and chew well before swallowing. Avoid sugar and sugary products apart from honey based products to prevent bloating. Always maintain proper diet, avoid over eating or untimely eating, this is one of the biggest reasons for bloating.
